RULES & FORMAT
THE 2025 AMATEUR LEIPZIG CLASSIC
10TH-12TH OCTOBER 2025 IN LEIPZIG, GERMANY
Eligibility
This tournament is open to players who meet all of the following eligibility rules. If any of the follow apply to you, then you will not be eligible for this tournament.
1) Have not represented or been selected to any national team at junior, adult or senior level since 2018. (This includes bowlers who were selected but have not played for the team.)
2) Have never won a European Bowling Tour event.
3) Have not been a PBA member since 2024.
4) Have never won a PBA national title, PWBA title, PBA 50/60 title, or PBA regional title.
Format
Qualification will be a 6 game block. A bowlers highest 6 game block including handicap will count and unlimited re-entries are allowed.
Bowlers will play in their own division during qualification. A minimum of 1 in 5 will qualify for the finals in each division. There will be 4 divisions which are as follows:
Seniors (Aged 50+)
175 average & under
176-199 average
200+ average
Any bowlers who are aged 50 and over will be placed in the Seniors division. If a Senior bowler has an average of 175 or less, they will have the option to play in the 175 & under division. All other players will bowl in their relevant average division.
Final Step 1
All finalists from all 4 divisions will now bowl against each other. All players will bowl 3 games and the top 16 scores including handicap will advance to Final Step 2. All other players outside of the top 16 will be eliminated and ranked based on their handicap series score.
Final Step 2
Players will be seed 1 to 16 and play a 1 game head to head match. The player with the highest game including handicap will advance to Final Step 3. Losers will be ranked 9-16.
Final Step 3
The 8 remaining players will play a 1 game head to head match. The player with the highest game including handicap will advance to Final Step 4. Losers will be ranked 5-8.
Final Step 4
The 4 remaining players will play a 1 game head to head match. The player with the highest game including handicap will advance to Final Step 5. Losers will be ranked 3-4.
Final Step 5
The final 2 players will play a 1 game head to head match. The winner with the highest handicap game will be the tournament champion.
Rules
Bowlers must be a registered member of an EBF Federation and in good standing.

Bowlers accept that they have read all the eligibility rules carefully and that they are eligible to play. Any bowlers who enter and are found to be ineligible will be disqualified and no refunds will be given.

A provisional ball must be rolled if a dispute relating to pinfall cannot be resolved immediately.

Protests must be made verbally at the time and confirmed in writing to the Tournament Director within 72 hours of the game in which the infraction occurred.

The Tournament Director (David Cooper) reserves the right to reject or rerate any entry and their decision on all matters shall be final, subject to appeal to the ETBF. By entering into the tournament players accept the eligibility rules for this tournament. If a player is found to be ineligible, they will be disqualified from the tournament.

All bowlers must register at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled squad time.

Averages will be taken from a bowlers highest league or tournament average since the 23/24 season, with a minimum of 18 games. Averages with less than 18 games or from before 2023 may be considered if a bowler has no other average. If a bowler does not have a current average, then they will bowl scratch in the 200+ division. Both Free Fall and String averages will be accepted without differentiation.

In the event of a tie for the final qualification position in each division, both players will qualify. If there is a tie in the final round 1 for positions 1-15, the highest handicap game will be the tiebreaker. If there is a tie for a qualification place in Final Step 1, there will be a 1 ball roll off. If there is a tie in a head to head match, there will be a roll off.

Before, during, and after the event there could be photography, filming or video taken of participants and medal winners by anyone attending the event, either as an official, spectator, parent or guardian. If you (as a participant, parent or guardian) object to this, you must make your objections known to the tournament manager prior to the event starting and reasonable adjustments will be made.
Prize Fund
All amounts expressed are in Euros. Prize fund is based on 140 1st entries and 100 re-entries. Prize fund may be adjusted if fewer entries are received.
